Victus by HP 16.1 inch gaming laptop pc

Games like valorant, fragpunk, and maplestory cannot run. Valorant gets stuck on the first screen and never opens, fragpunk crashes instantly, maplestory doesnteven run anything.
I've factory reset my pc and the first thing i downloaded was fragpunk and it still didnt run, same thing with valorant. I have no idea anymore.

Hi @Edan2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding gaming issues on the Victus by HP 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check System Requirements: Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements of each game. Many games have specific hardware and software requirements that must be met.

Update Graphics Drivers: Make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date. You can update them through the HP Support Assistant or manually download the latest version from the Nvidia or AMD website.

  • Launch the HP Support Assistant from the Start menu or taskbar.
  • Navigate to the updates section and install any available driver updates.

Install Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows operating system is fully updated. Outdated system files can cause compatibility issues with games.

Check for DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributables: Many games require certain DirectX versions and Visual C++ Redistributables. Make sure they are installed on your system by downloading them from the official Microsoft website.

Verify Game Files: Use the game client (such as Steam or Epic Games Launcher) to verify the integrity of the game files. This can help replace corrupted files or dependencies.

Check Antivirus/Firewall Settings: Sometimes, security settings can prevent games from launching properly. Make sure the games are allowed through your firewall and that your antivirus isn’t blocking them.

Adjust Game Settings: Try lowering the game's graphics settings or running the game in windowed mode to see if it improves performance.

Run as Administrator: Right-click the game’s executable file and choose 'Run as Administrator' to ensure it has the necessary permissions.

Review Event Viewer Logs: Check your Event Viewer for any error logs related to the crashes. This can offer insight into what might be causing the issue.

I hope this helps.
