My son wanted to start over on his laptop & attempted to factory restore Laptop 15-ec0013dx, now only gets to the HP logo & reboots. I was able to get into the bios to test the internal components and everything passed. How can I restore this laptop to the factory default install of the OS?

Hi:

Using another Windows PC with W7 64 bit or newer, you can create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10, 7) | HP® Customer Support

If that doesn't work, you can clean install W10 by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool from the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
