@DoubtTMWelcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding sound getting distorted!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Since Event Viewer didn’t provide any useful errors, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to identify and fix the issue.

Check for Overheating

  1. Ensure your laptop is on a flat surface with good airflow.
  2. Use OMEN Gaming Hub to monitor CPU & GPU temperatures.
  3. If temps are too high (above 85°C), clean the vents with compressed air and consider using a cooling pad.

Update GPU & Audio Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Display Adapters, right-click your GPU (NVIDIA/AMD), and select Update Driver.
  3. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers, update your Realtek/NVIDIA Audio driver.
  4. Alternatively, download the latest drivers from the official pages of:
    • NVIDIA
    • AMD
    • HP

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Turn off your laptop.
  2. Press Power and repeatedly tap F2 to enter HP Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Run the System Test (Extensive Test) to check for hardware failures.

Disable Audio Enhancements

  1. Right-click the Speaker Icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
  2. Go to Playback Devices, right-click your default device, and select Properties.
  3. Under Enhancements, check Disable all enhancements.

Check Windows Event Logs for GPU Crashes

  1. Open Event Viewer (Win + R, type eventvwr, press Enter).
  2. Navigate to Windows Logs > System and look for critical errors (e.g., Event ID 4101 for GPU crashes).
  3. If you find any, share the details here.

If the issue persists, let me know if this happens only in specific games or under certain conditions. We'll get this sorted so you can get back to dominating the battlefield! 🎮🔥

Take care, and have an amazing day!
