Hello,
So I recently purchased this laptop and it has been working swell, however once I started using my headphones I noticed whenever a loud noise would occur, my right headphone would make a static noise.
I thought it was the headphones themselves but I tried with a brand new pair and the same thing happens. I restarted my system and even did a system wipe but nothing has changed.
Any help or ideas will be much appreciated.

That probably due to Windows updates. Re-install driver should help. Please try
(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92001-92500/sp92073.exe
or older version
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp88501-89000/sp88748.exe
(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.
Regards.
