I am getting sudden fps drop on my hp 15ay506tx while gaming on low end games like csgo. I used to play at 80 fps average before but suddenly my fps lowers frequently and comes around 5 fps for 1 minute and then again goes back. I have tried all solution as said on the community but nothing helped. It happens very frequent and just ruins my gaming experience.

@coldsweep Here's a video on how to disable the "turbo mode" that causes this issue: Click here
If you aren't able to disable it permanently, use the below steps:
If you are running Windows 8 or 10, it could be an admin rights problem.
- Navigate to this folder:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static
- Find CCC.exe, right click>properties>compatibility tab
- Tick the 'run this program as an administrator' option and hit ok.
- Do the same thing for MOM.exe
You may have to restart the PC for the changes to take effect, then try disabling overdrive, restart the game to see if it fixes it.
If the issue persists, please perform an extensive hardware test to identify if this is either a hardware or a software issue:
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
- Click Extensive Test.
- Click Run once, or Loop until error.
- While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
- If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
P.S: Welcome to HP Forums! 😉

@coldsweep if that didn't work, we can attempt a few other steps to help resolve the issue, but first! I need your test results, did you perform the hardware test?
If yes, please respond with the failure ID - if the test failed, or simply mentioned if it passed and we'll go from there, thanks.
