Hp Omen dc-0106tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a hp omen dc-0106tx which i bought in Sept of last year. For the last few months I am facing sudden frame drops in my games from 60+ fps to low 20s again and again. I tried everything and my temperatures are okay, also my bios and all drivers are up to date even the windoes is on latest 1903 build. Please help.

P.S- I noticed that this only occurs when my laptp is plugges in when it is on battrey it runs as smooth as ever.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Have you tried other games, videos or movies?

Make sure your Nvidia settings are set to maximum performance, not just Windows power options.

Set Nvidia to use Maximum Performance in both Global and Program settings (choose the specific game in Program settings)

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Beware of BIOS UPDATES. I have an Omen 15 with i7 7700HQ and Nvidia 1060 GPU, on Bios F.18 I was playing comfotably at 50+ FPS on medium settings on The Division 2 and 70+ frames on games like Diablo 3.

After updating to Bios F.19 Rev A my frames dropped to 20+ and GPU is locked at 1060mhz, 400 mhz less than before.

I reverted back to F.18 with no explanation from HP as to why the change and now HP support assistant is trying to force me to install F.19 rev A on every reboot.
