its a brand new laptop, but it has a problem.
when playing games, there's a sudden frame drops for about 5 or 10 seconds and then it will be back to normal again, it happens repeatedly. I'm frustrated 😞 i've done so many things that i thought it will solve the problem, but it didn't T o T
however, when playing with the adapter attached, it works fine, but i'm not always gaming with the adapters attached, i want to play it with the battery, but it didn't work

Yep thats how its supposed to work. When you disconnect the power cord, the system will drop the power usage down to prevent the battery from discharging fast and to prevent HEAT.
So you can bump it up a little for the battery performance in the Nvidia Control Panel settings, but it still wont be as good as using it with the power cord plugged in.
Set the games Program Setting for its power management mode to Prefer Max Performance...
Also see if you can change the Preferred Graphics Processor to the NVIDIA card and not Auto.
That's about all you can do.
HP doesn't recommend gaming on battery only as it will bring it to its end of life much faster.
