HP Victus I5, The TrueType font 'KrutiDev 050' is not rendering characters correctly. To resolve this, I have not only restored the system to its factory settings but also attempted every recommended solution. Unfortunately, the issue remains unresolved.

Hi @Roshan-Besa,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to see the KrutiDev 050 TrueType font not rendering correctly on your HP Victus i5 laptop, especially after trying everything, including a full factory reset. Let’s walk through this together.

Recommended Fixes

1. Reinstall the Font Properly

Make sure you’re installing the font for all users.

  • Right-click the .ttf file → Select “Install for all users”
  • Alternatively, copy it to:
    C:\Windows\Fonts

2. Enable Support for Non-Unicode Programs

KrutiDev requires this setting to display correctly.

  • Go to Control Panel → Region → Administrative tab
  • Click “Change system locale…”
  • Set to Hindi (India)
  • Restart your laptop

3. Reset Font Cache

A corrupted font cache can cause rendering issues.

Steps:

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator
  • Run: net stop fontcache
             del /A /Q "%WinDir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\FontCache"
             net start fontcache

Then restart your system.

4. Test in Safe Mode or WordPad

Sometimes third-party apps interfere with font rendering.

  • Open WordPad or Notepad
  • Select KrutiDev 050 and type a few characters
  • If it works here, the issue may be app-specific (e.g., MS Word settings or browser rendering)

5. Use Character Map for Special Glyphs

KrutiDev uses a Remington typewriter layout. You can use Windows Character Map to find and insert specific glyphs.

  • Press Win + R, type charmap, and hit Enter
  • Select KrutiDev 050 from the font list

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
