Hi, I recently purchased my new HP Omen laptop and I have a wifi connection issue.
I downloaded Realtek wifi software.
It just disconnected very random way dozens of time a day.
I tried to follow the instruction from HP store about turn off automatic disconnection for saving the energy.
But It kept happening just same a before.
I wonder what I have to do more for this issue.
I hope you can help me with this

Hi @Ryul6,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for explaining the issue clearly. Frequent Wi-Fi disconnections on your HP OMEN 16-ap0000 Gaming Laptop can be frustrating, especially when you've already tried disabling power-saving settings. Here's how we can resolve this:
Steps to Fix Wi-Fi Disconnection Issues on Windows 11
1. Update Wi-Fi Drivers from HP Support
Even if you installed Realtek drivers manually, HP recommends using certified versions:
- Visit: 👉 OMEN 16 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-ap0000 (A6SM0AV) | HP® Support
- Download and install the latest Realtek Wi-Fi driver and Intel Chipset driver.
- Download and install the latest BIOS update for your model.
2. Disable Power Saving for Network Adapter
You may have done this, but double-check:
- Open Device Manager > Network Adapters.
- Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter > Properties > Power Management.
- Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
3. Change Roaming Sensitivity
This helps maintain a stable connection:
- In Device Manager > Network Adapter > Advanced tab.
- Set Roaming Aggressiveness to Highest.
4. Reset Network Stack
Run these commands in Command Prompt (Admin):
Then restart your laptop.
5. Switch to 5 GHz Band
If your router supports dual-band:
- Connect to the 5 GHz network instead of 2.4 GHz.
- This reduces interference and improves stability.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
