Hp pavillion 15 dk0050tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello ,

I purchased an HP - pavillion gaming 15 dk-0050tx

It comes with 8gb ram , intel i7-9750H with base frequency at 2.6gHz and a gtx 1650 graphics card.

In the beginning , for a few months there were no heating issues and the fan worked and sometimes it got loud , I mean we can't expect a gaming laptop to not get loud. But the temperature never exceeded 80°C.

Recently for 3 months I've been noticing that even when the laptop is idle the temperature stays at >50°C and while gaming it touches 100°C which is too risky. I even disabled turbo boost and it didn't change the temperature drastically. This was when I noticed that my fan was always spinning at 1780 RPM and it never went above 1800RPM . Which for a gaming laptop is not good .

I updated my cool sense , my bios and everything is up to date.

The keyboard heats up and still the fans just don't work or blast any air out at all.

I used HWmonitor to check all temperature and frequencies.

Can someone help me with why my fan is not working and how to get it to work?

Thank you.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is overheating.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you run a system test on the computer to make sure that there is no hardware issue.

Follow the steps in the below article to run the test.

I've run all the tests from the pc pc hardw diagnostics tool

Hello,

I bought an OMEN 15 on  July and this month i got same issue than you.

I've find out it is a fan failure, cleaning it won't fix ; you have to change the fan.

During the period of the bios update the fan runs at its maximum speed. Does it do that even for you?
