Hi, i've recently bought a hp omen laptop dc0150tx (about 1 month ago). But recently when i tried playing destiny i've noticed a lot of fps drop( like from 144 to 70 then rises again). So, i opened up hwinfo and the temps are at 97 C. Then i downloaded throttlestop and undervolt it to -0.155 V.It reduced the temps, but slow but surely it rised again to 95 and the throttle came back. Is there any way to fix this besides opening up the backplate and reapplying thermal paste ? Or i got defect product or something ? Or is it normal ?
What i've done so far
-undervolting
-updating nvidia
-updating bios

@Benedictus1207, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I see that your experiencing issue with the GPU throttling and computer is overheating, let us try these steps:
- Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
- Does computer freeze or hangup?
While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
First, let's install HP support assistance: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
Next, use HP Support Assistant to automatically install computer updates, such as updated drivers, system updates, and useful utilities.
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
-
Perform any other update management actions as needed.
Let me know how this goes.
