Please be advised, newly configured OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ek1000, touchpad is not working as intended. The touchpad at first initial setup. Worked fine, about 1 hour after the setup. All of the sudden the touchpad stopped working completely. Rebooted several times and the touchpad would not function. Decided to do a full reset/reinstall of the OS since HP first initial setups (at least for me) always have issues. After the reset was complete. The touchpad clicks would not work. Only the moving of the mouse was working. I connected an external mouse and after a few clicks. Not before finishing the setup process. The touchpad left click started to work again. After the setup completed. I tested the clicks and the right click was working on and off, the left click was very iffy. I decided to update the OS and that seemed to work for a moment. Left click and right was working. After about 2 hours, now the right click doesn't work again on the touchpad and the left click is barely responsive. The driver version is the exact same one that is available on the HP site and there was no new software from MS updates.
There is clearly an issue with the touchpad drivers on the OMEN 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ek1000
Is here a permanent fix I can apply to this touchpad please? or is it the touchpad that is in fact faulty?
Please advise,
John C.
