Hi,

I have some issues on my laptop touchpad since few months, it randomly lag/freeze, it's very uncomfortable for working...

My only way to solve it is to Fn+F11 to activate/desactivate the touchpad, but it does not work for a long time

I'm on dual-boot Windows 11 (latest update) + Arch linux (manjaro) for working. I have same issues on both OS.

I tried all the HP tools for diagnostic & fix bugs but nothing work

I'm under warranty, should I return my laptop ?

Maybe a hardware issue ?

Thanks for your help !

Hi @kir9nn

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

I see that you are facing touchpad-related issues on your system. Do not worry, we are here to fix it.

May I know from when are you facing this issue?

Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?

I would suggest you please use the link below and check the functionality in safe mode. Let me know the outcome of it: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00806682

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I think the issue only arise when some battery saving modes/settings are activated.

Hi @Nirvana_95,

Thanks for your answer,

I first met this issues few weeks after using my laptop,

And I never made any hardware changes, I just installed a linux distribution in an other disk partition (dual-boot: 500Gb Windows 10 + 500Gb linux).

As you suggested I tried to to start my laptop in safe mode and it seems to fix the issue. Also when I navigate in BIOS with touchpad I do not meet this issue anymore.

I read on some forums that it can have some compatibility issues with hp touchpad drivers and AMD processors. Did you already heard about that ?

Thanks in advance for your answer

Thanks for your response.

I am happy to hear that the touchpad works fine in safe mode and in the BIOS. Please note that our support is very limited when it comes to Linux OS.

The issue you are facing is related to the driver or the OS. I would suggest you please contact Linux support forums and they will be able to assist you with this.

Hope this helps!
