HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-1009na

Does anybody know if my UEFI supports scheduled power on please?  I can't find the option.

HP Pavilion Gaming TG01-1009na.  Serial number 4CE0290Q4V.

If not, are there any UEFI updates that might provide this?  I can't find any.

TIA

Thank you Deep_World.  All understood.

I have searched the UEFI but don't see the option.  There are no UEFI updates available that I can find.  The Windows Task Scheduler isn't appropriate for me because the PC will be fully powered off, not simply in sleep/hibernate.

So, I am going to approach this differently and avoid the need t power on this particular PC.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @MickWUK,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused and don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

On most HP Pavilion Gaming desktops, including the TG01 series, scheduled power-on (sometimes called “RTC wake” or “Power On by RTC”) is not always available in the UEFI firmware. It can depend on the motherboard and BIOS version.

  • The current BIOS/UEFI version installed on your system (you can check this by pressing F10 during startup to enter BIOS, or by typing msinfo32 in Windows search and looking under “BIOS Version/Date”).
  • Whether you’re looking to schedule daily automatic power-on, or just one-time wake events.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try in the meantime:

  • Check BIOS menus thoroughly: Look under Advanced, Power Management, or Boot Options for anything mentioning “Wake on RTC,” “Resume by Alarm,” or “Scheduled Power-On.”
  • Update BIOS/UEFI: Visit HP’s official support page for your model (TG01-1009na) and see if there are any BIOS updates available. Sometimes new firmware adds or improves power management features.
  • Windows alternatives: If BIOS doesn’t support it, you can use Windows Task Scheduler with “Wake the computer to run this task” enabled, though this requires the PC to already be in sleep/hibernate rather than fully powered off.
  • Check HP Support Assistant: This tool can automatically detect and install updates, including BIOS if available.

If you don’t see the option in BIOS even after updating, it’s likely that your specific motherboard doesn’t support scheduled power-on.

I hope this helps.
