Hi,

 

We're looking to buy a couple of these https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c07066445 which don't appear to have thunderbolt ports.

 

Can we use a usb hub/docking station to charge the laptop (if si, what type), or do we need to carry the transfo/power pack around all the time?

It requires 200W charger. Please wait few more months, vendors would probably sell higher wattage USB-C charger. I tested my HP Omen machine which also has 200W Charger, the dock which has 100W USB-C out, it charges my machine when sitting idle or overnight.
