USB port is loose or broken, cant tell.

So the 2 USB ports on the left side can be used but they won't recognize my external HDD anymore but makes the plugged in noise, and when i plug a mouse in, the connector is loose in a sideways motion and only works if I pull it towards me, but is a very delicate connection. Any ideas on how to fix this, the laptop is only 3 months old. (The right side USB is also a bit loose but everything works fine in it)

I understand that the laptop USB port is loose connectivity.


In that case, I would suggest you perform the USB port test and check.


1. Power off the PC and make sure that it is completely powered off.

2. Press the power button and the moment you press the power button immediately start tapping F2 key, you should see the system diagnostics screen.

3. Look for the component test, under that all the hardware will be listed, please choose USB and initiate the quick test.

Note: If it fails it will generate a 24 digits alphanumeric failure id, please capture that.
