Hello,

So i am considering upgrading my laptop. I want to get more RAM and some storage.

I already asked kinda the same question a few months ago, but did not purchase anything.

Also, i wanted to ask, i currently have 8Gb Ram at 2600Mhz. Would you just add another 8Gb Ram at 2600Mhz ?

Is 16Gb Ram enough for most games? Can i add 8Gb but 3200 Mhz to my current 2600Mhz? Or do i need to get both at 3200 Mhz?

If i needed both at same speed. Would you recommend one 16Gb ram thing, or 2 8gb Ram things? Does it make any difference?

Secondly, I need some storage, i currently have 256Gb SSD but this is by far not enough. Thing, i could not find the parts to add some internal SSD ( you need like to cable or idk, can't remember but those are not possible to get i think ) I've only found Us shops, fact is, i live in switzerland which makes it hard for me to get those components.

So i was thinking about buying an external SSD, like 500Gb storage at least. What brand would you recommend considering i whant to play games on this SSD.

Thanks a lot for the help, Sorry if my english isn't that great, it might be a bit difficuét to understand me but i did my best,

Have a nice day

Its specs

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06060780

As you know, vendors may have same specs but sometimes RAM simply won't work due to compatible issue. The best option is to use SAME existing RAM on the second slot to have 16GB. A tool called CPU-Z will tell you which RAM is on your machine now. You can also use following compatible RAM

            https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs8266/ct12476999

You can upgrade to 32GB if you wish

It has 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD now. You can replace with a larger (capacity) drive using

        https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/970-evo-nvme-m2-ssd/MZ-V7E2T0BW/
        https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p2-ssd
  Or similar from reputable vendors.

      For example

               https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p1/ct1000p1ssd8/ct13563439

Adding internal HDD/SSD, you need following parts first

  •  Hard drive cable connector part  # 929450-001
  • Hard drive brackets part # 929561-001
