pavilion 17-cd0024nv
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently had problems with wifi on my pavilion laptop after 3 days of troubleshooting I concluded that the network card was faulty so I decided to replace it. The card model was intel ac9560ngw. While searching for a new card I stumped upon an offer for the intel ax201ngw so I went for it since it was half the price of the 9560. The problem now is that the laptop will not boot with the new card installed. I tried everything. Updated bios disabled secure boot enabled legacy mode but nothing not even an error message. The moment I unplug the card the laptop boots normally. The laptop is equipped with Intel i7 9nth gen processor so in theory, ax is supported. Also the old and the new card have the same style connector. Any suggestions on what can I try?

I don't know why. Looks like machine only has ONE option which is the Intel Wireless-AC 9560 802.11ac 2 × 2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth® 5 (non-vPro) (MU-MIMO, Gigabit Wi-Fi speeds supported) adapter part #  L22634-005.

Regards.

Yes I saw that but it seemed very unlikely that from all the network cards out there the laptop supports only this one so I presumed that the manual states only this one because it was the only option that the laptop shiped. I mean it makes no sense not to support similar cards. I also spoke with support on the phone but they did not know right away so I am waiting for them to call me. The only reason I can imagine that it doesn't work is that there is a bios lock for specific hardware but support did not mention anything on the phone.
