I want to upgrade my Victus 15-fb0075cl laptop RAM and NVMe drive.  It came with 2x8GB SODIMM 3200 MT/s cards and a 1TB NVMe drive: WDC PC SN730 SDBPNTY-1T00-1006.

What is the official maximum speed and size RAM supported by this model?

What is the official maximum speed and size NVMe drive supported by this model?

EDIT: Also, does it matter if the memory modules are  "single-rank" vs "dual-rank"?

Hi @f3d

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Your Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0075cl (63U43UA) supports up to 32GB of DDR4-3200 SODIMM memory and up to 2TB PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSD. Both upgrades are straightforward and can significantly boost performance.

RAM Upgrade Details

  • Maximum Supported Capacity: 32GB total (2x16GB)
  • Type: DDR4 SODIMM
  • Speed: 3200 MT/s (matches your current modules)
  • Rank Compatibility: Both single-rank and dual-rank modules are supported. Dual-rank may offer slight performance benefits in some workloads, but compatibility is not affected.

Installation Tips:

  • Power off and unplug the laptop.
  • Remove the bottom cover carefully.
  • Replace both modules with matching 16GB DDR4-3200 SODIMMs.
  • After installation, boot into BIOS to confirm memory is recognized.

NVMe SSD Upgrade Details

  • Interface: PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe M.2 2280
  • Maximum Capacity: 2TB officially supported
  • Speed: Gen3 drives up to ~3500 MB/s read/write are fully compatible.

You can replace the existing 1TB WDC SN730 with a larger Gen3 NVMe SSD or add a second drive if your model includes an extra M.2 slot (some variants do). Always confirm physical slot availability before purchasing.

Installation Tips:

  • Use a static-safe surface.
  • Unscrew and remove the existing SSD.
  • Insert the new SSD at a 30-degree angle and secure it with the mounting screw.
  • Reinstall the bottom cover and boot into BIOS to confirm detection.

Let me know if you’d like help choosing specific RAM or SSD models—I’ll help you match specs and compatibility.
