Hi, my nephew has a HP Laptop - 15s-eq1516sa and he wants to download a game but he doesn't have enough space. Can we buy more space/ storage for gaming? what sort of format is it if it is possible? can anyone send me a link or recommend a solution? I just don't want to buy the wrong thing and know nothing about gaming.
PS this laptop was purchased for school work and not gaming so we know it's not the best..... somehow I don't think it will ever be used for anything academic... just a hunch!
Thank you in advance for your advice

Its specs

It only has 128 GB M.2 SSD which is SATA drive. You can upgrade to 500GB, 1TB or 2TB using

Hi, @iknownothing1
The specs for the notebook indicate that it comes with a 128 GB M.2 SSD.
HP Laptop - 15s-eq1516sa Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
The service manual indicates the notebook supports M.2 NVMe SSD's.
See chapter 1.
Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC
You would have to take the notebook apart, and replace the 128 GB M.2 SSD with one having a larger storage capacity, and you would also have to reinstall Windows onto the new SSD.
You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to do that, or you can clean install W10 by making bootable installation media with the media creation tool.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
Cloud recovery tool info...
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) | HP® Customer Support
I recommend the Samsung 980 M.2 NVme SSD.
You can decide on whether you want to install the 500 GB model or the 1 TB model.
The service manual link has the SSD removal and replacement procedure.
