Microsoft Windows 11

Im using HP Victus 15 I tried opening websites with cam, apps with cam and the cam app that came with the laptop. all of them gave me different error code. but the prominent is no attached cam and same with the light it keeps blinking. I tried every instruction I could find in the net and even here. There is no shutter in my version of victus and every instruction i found did not work except for updating the driver that I could not  completely do. my windows ver is 24h2 and their is no driver for my version of windows. I wanted to try the older version but surprisingly their is no actual drivers for cams in the website. If i tried looking for it outside HP. I couldn't find what kind or model the cam is.

I tried all the diagnostic test. It all passed. but still my cam is still not working.

Hi @djtopak,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Victus 15 camera is not being detected and shows errors across different apps. Since there’s no physical shutter on your model, let’s try the following steps:

Check Device Manager

Press Win + X → Device Manager → expand Cameras / Imaging Devices.

If the camera is missing, click View → Show hidden devices.

If it shows with a warning, right-click → Uninstall device → restart. Windows will reinstall it automatically.

Update Windows & Drivers

Make sure Windows 11 24H2 is fully updated.

Since HP does not provide a separate camera driver (the camera uses Microsoft inbox drivers), update your Chipset and Graphics drivers from HP Support for your model.

Check Privacy & Permissions

Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

Ensure camera access is enabled for apps you want to use.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Restart the laptop and press F2 → select Component Tests → Webcam.

If the test passes but the camera is still not working, it may be a driver or hardware issue.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍

--- Even though it has no warning sign. I already did this before. still didn't worked.

--- wanted to install new driver but for my windows version there has no available driver anywhere in the site or anywhere on the web.

--- wanted to download older version, still couldn't find it.

Update Windows & Drivers

Make sure Windows 11 24H2 is fully updated.

Since HP does not provide a separate camera driver (the camera uses Microsoft inbox drivers), update your Chipset and Graphics drivers from HP Support for your model.

--- under the graphics. there are 3 driver. which one?

--- where can i find the chipset?

--- base on the site diagnostic. my laptop is updated..

Check Privacy & Permissions

Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

Ensure camera access is enabled for apps you want to use.

 --- Done. Didn't worked.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

I hope this helps.

--- gonna try this. i will update as soon as I'm done with this.

Hi @djtopak.

Thanks for getting back with those details and clarifying what you’ve already tried — I really appreciate the effort you’ve put in so far.

I understand that uninstalling/reinstalling didn’t help, drivers for Windows 11 24H2 are tricky to find, and you’ve already checked privacy settings. Good call on planning to run the HP Hardware Diagnostics webcam test — please do let me know the results when you’ve completed it. That will help us confirm if it’s leaning more toward a driver issue or a possible hardware fault.

I’ll be here to guide you on the next steps based on what the diagnostics show.

Best regards,
