I am wondering what is included in HP care pack warranty because I have ejected key  and rubber cup from my keyboard that happened all of a sudden while gaming (key/letter D), Other keys are fine.

The other issue is I`ve leaned on my touchpad on laptop and dented it (left side of touchpad sank in).

I am wondering If that is covered by HP care pack or not so I can decide what to do because my warranty got declined from authorized service center for HP laptops in my country and they are known for declining warranties often.

I`d be glad to know estimated price of touchpad and key replacement if someone knows that too.

Hi @Damocles22,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Care Pack Warranty for Physical Damages!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

HP Care Pack warranty services typically offer extended protection for your device, including coverage for hardware repairs and technical support. However, it's important to note that not all physical damages are covered under standard warranty terms, particularly if the damage results from accidental events or misuse.

Here's what you should consider regarding your issues:

Standard Warranty vs. Accidental Damage Protection (ADP):

  • Standard Warranty: Covers defects in materials and workmanship. Physical damage caused by user actions, such as keys being ejected or the touchpad being dented, is usually not covered.
  • Accidental Damage Protection (ADP): Specific plans may cover accidental drops, spills, or other unintended damage. If your HP Care Pack includes ADP, these issues might be covered.

Checking Coverage:

  • Review your specific HP Care Pack details to see if ADP or similar coverage was part of your purchase. Your warranty documentation or HP's support website can provide this information.

We recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.

So it is standard Care Pack if I don`t see Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) written in there under Care Pack  in Coverage details on HP support site?

I don`t know how can normal usage like pressing keys on keyboard while gaming and key getting ejected be considered  physical damage caused by user actions, instead of build quality issue.

My warranty was declined by authorized service center for HP in my country  (Zagreb, Croatia) and they  sent me an offer for replacing touchpad (N13310-001 1 TOUCHPAD WITH MYLAR MCS) and whole top cover with keyboard (N13298-BA1 1 TOP COVER MCS WITH KEYBOARD MCS BL SL). The touchpad is 62€, top cover with keyboard is 110€  without VAT. That is the authorized service center for HP for the store where I bought laptop, so I don`t know If I can ask other HP authorized service providers in my country.

I am wondering if they (service) have to change whole top cover with keyboard on HP Victus 15-fb0042nm model if only one key (letter D) got ejected and rubber cup fell off or they can replace just the keyboard itself without replacing top cover? Because changing whole top cover with keyboard seems rather expensive and unnecessary, but I don`t know if that  is the usual procedure for this model.

What is the procedure from HP in these situations? What parts are replaced in cases like this: only key and rubber cup fixed or only keyboard replaced  or whole top cover with keyboard replaced?

Thank you for answering.
