Laptop does not turn on, when plugging in the charger it has an orange charge light that will go white to show charged but laptop will not turn on. No light when not plugged in and no change/blinking/flicking of light if power button held down

Hi @Gcherr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

Disconnect the charger.

Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain any residual power.

Reconnect the charger and try turning it on again.

2. Check for Signs of Power

Any fan noise, keyboard backlight, or screen flicker?

If none, continue to the next step.

3. Try a Key Combination

Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds, and release all.

This attempts a BIOS recovery (works on some HP models).

4. Inspect Power Adapter and Port

Ensure the adapter and charging port are clean and secure.

If available, try another compatible HP charger to rule out adapter issues.

I hope this helps.
