@sudipta2004, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Turn Off Windows Microphone Enhancements

Press Windows + R, type mmsys.cpl, and press Enter.

Go to the Recording tab.

Right-click on your default microphone (usually "Microphone Array") → click Properties.

Go to the Enhancements tab (or Advanced if "Enhancements" is missing).

Uncheck:

“Enable audio enhancements”

“Acoustic Echo Cancellation”

Any specific noise suppression options (if present).

Apply and OK.

Disable 'Communications' Auto Volume Adjustment

Again, open mmsys.cpl > Sounds window.

Go to the Communications tab.

Select “Do nothing”.

Apply and OK.

Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers

Press Windows + X > Device Manager.

Expand Sound, video and game controllers.

Right-click Realtek Audio or Intel Smart Sound or similar > Update driver.

Choose Search automatically OR go to HP’s official website to download latest drivers:

HP Victus 15-fa0000 Drivers

You can also try Uninstall Device and reboot (Windows will reinstall it).

Test Your Mic With Voice Recorder

Open the Voice Recorder app in Windows.

Record your voice while speaking clearly.

If it’s still muffled or background noise is loud, the issue is still driver or software-related.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
