I ordered a hp victus 15 and I want to upgrade its RAM. If I do this, will I lose the warranty?

Upgrading the RAM in your HP Victus 15 laptop does not void your warranty, as long as:

  1. You don’t damage anything during the upgrade, and

  2. You only upgrade components that are considered customer-accessible, like RAM and storage.

HP allows users to upgrade RAM and storage in most consumer laptops, including the Victus series. However, here are a few important points:

What to Keep in Mind:

  • Use compatible RAM (DDR4 or DDR5 depending on your model -check your exact Victus 15 specs first).

  • Follow proper anti-static precautions (e.g. touch metal before handling components).

  • If your laptop has a warranty sticker over a screw or access panel, check your country's HP policy -in most regions (like the US, EU, and many others), opening the panel does not void the warranty, but this can vary.

  • If damage occurs during the upgrade (e.g. broken clips, scratched board), that damage would not be covered.

Recommendation:

  • Save your original RAM module, just in case you need to send the laptop in for warranty service—they may expect the original configuration.

  • Refer to the Maintenance and Service Guide (MSG) for your specific Victus 15 model on the HP Support website, which shows upgrade procedures and supported specs.

Would you like help checking the compatible RAM type for your specific Victus 15 model or finding the service manual?

Kind Regards,
