When ever the laptop`s fan turn on, I hear a strange ticking sound. The sound is more prominent when I adjust the angle of the laptop. Is it the issue of the B&O speaker or the fan is causing the problem ?

Hi @Balram99,

Thank you for your response,

The ticking sound you're hearing when the fans turn on is likely related to the fan rather than the B&O speakers. This type of sound often indicates a few potential issues with the fan.

  • Debris or Dust: Dust or debris inside the fan can cause it to make a ticking or clicking noise. Cleaning the fan and vents might resolve this issue.
  • Fan Blade Issue: Sometimes, a fan blade can become misaligned or damaged, causing it to hit other components inside the laptop. Adjusting the angle of the laptop might change the position of the blade, making the noise more noticeable.
  • Loose Components: If there are any loose screws or components near the fan, they might vibrate or create noise when the fan operates.
  • Fan Bearing: A failing fan bearing can also create unusual noises. If the fan is not operating smoothly, it might need to be replaced.

To troubleshoot.

  • Clean the Fan: Use compressed air to blow out dust and debris from the fan and vents.
  • Inspect the Fan: If you're comfortable opening up the laptop, check for any visible issues with the fan blades or components.
  • Check for Loose Parts: Ensure that all screws and components around the fan are secure.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
