OMEN by HP - 17t-w100 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey, I'm looking to get some more RAM in my laptop, and want to know what kind I need to buy so I don't break anything. It's an Omen, 17", S/N X2E89AV. Thanks!

Apologies i had a situation hit and had to leave quickly.

Since your model is a CTO configure to order, I dont know exactly which one you have.

Most likely, you have the one with the memory access door on the bottom. That is easy to access the ram with.

Here is the manual for that one... http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05260118

IF yours does not have the access door underneath, you will have to pull the case apart. You will have to be careful when doing so as there are little tabs that snap together and you have to pry them apart after you take the screws out.

Hello @YKantBobReed

Your model is OMEN by HP - 17t-w100 CTO which means there are no specs to find. It was configured to order when you purchased it.

The best thing to do is run a utility like CPUz or Speccy and get the memory specs from that. If you are simply adding to whats there, then buy a stick that matches the timings of the current stick. In other words, if you have one stick of 8GB and you want to add another 8GB, the frequencies need to match.

Here is your manual. You will have to be gentle when prying on the case with a spudger or the little tabs that click the top to the case will break easily if your not careful.

Let me know if I can help further.

Hey, thanks! I accidentally labelled the product number as the Serial Number. It's a X2E89AV. Windows says it's 8 Gig Samsung modules at 2400 X2. Also, you said "here is your manual" but I don't see a link or anything. Did I miss something in the post?
