What can cause a screen to suddenly develop a streak down the center? This after just 7 hours of use!! Been playing video for a 3 hours or so, I leave and come back to notice a streak down the screen now.

I ordered my first from BestBuy.com only to find it cheaper and faster, much faster from Amazon so I ordered one from Amazon and was going to leave the BBYCOM one to be cancelled out. Well, after getting the Amazon one and trying a SD card in the slot and continuing software setup... installs it seemed like this thing stalls out after like 5 minutes or so. I later pinned this to maybe a faulty M.2 controller so I tried the Best Buy one and that one was damaged out of the box. It worked well though... besides giving the same issues pretty much. So I tried everything without the SD CARD and everything was fine— installs go smooth and everything. Okay so I order a 2nd one from BBYCOM to get a special order item on order so I could do an exchange in the store. The second one finally came in and was ready after like 4 or 5 days but after only 7 hours of use the screen now had a faint streak down the center— junk!

Not trying a 3rd from BBYCOM and going back to Amazon after getting 1 that was actually good but I sent it back already... mainly because it came in a damaged box and I was concerned about the quality of the LCD screen.  Got the 2nd from Amazon due in on Tuesday. Will that be a good one? Sure hope so... if it is, I think I am done with BestBuy.com which I have been growing further disgusted with over their poor selection of items in store and lack of a customer focused return/exchange unless items are stocked in store. Amazon all the way for me now....

Question: Do the 17AN120NR model laptops all come with the SD READER?

Thus far, I have had 3 out of 3 that all have/had it.

I am concerned I may get the next one from Amazon without this card reader because of two images I see on Amazons product page for. How can some include it and others do not? That would have to be a different part #. You cannot make some AN120NR with something and leave that same thing off from other AN120NRs, could you?

Either way I definitely want the SD reader and will be disgusted if due to these defects from the two from Best Buy I will have to take one without it! This is really the only affordable laptop that has everything and style I am looking for in one. I don’t know where else to turn to shy of spending close 3000 for an MSI Titan 17 inch laptop!

Thank you for this information!  FYI... you may want to go remove or replace an image or two on the product page for this model on Amazon.com.  Because there is one image, supposedly posted by HP themselves, saying that it DOES NOT include a “digital media card reader” or even include “triple display support”. Both will be incorrect as this model does seem to include a digital media card reader and it does support triple displays by the HDMI, mini display port and usb c ports. You can do 4 displays simultaneously and all 4 on the NVIDIA card with NVIDIA SURROUND support for the other 3 displays if you want!
