Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have looked up which ram my laptop takes and was only able to find that it is an 8 Gb DDR4-2666mhz stick that is 260 pin. I purchased two of these from crucial and tried to install but all i get is a black screen when i turn the laptop on. I can reinstall the one 8Gb factory ram and the computer works fine. Looking at the factory ram it says it is only 2400 rather than 2666mhz.

I would like to add ram to my laptop so is this even actually possible?

If so, what should i upgrade with and is this laptop even capable of running 16 GB of ram?

@Sites

Its specs

The specs says nothing about RAM but 2666MHz RAM should work. Did you buy the following RAM specs from Crucial which is a compatible set:

You can use a tool called CPU-Z to find out what it is now and buy a same one or use HP part

              8 GB part # 937236-850  (you need 2 to get 16GB)

Regards.

This is the ram that I purchased. https://www.crucial.com/memory/eol_ddr4/ct2k8g4sfs8266
When I installed them and turned the computer on the power button lit up but the screen remained black.
