omen 17 an Oxxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

I have a laptop omen 17 an0xxxxx with factory intel card Wi-Fi  Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265. I want to upgrade to Wi-Fi 6, but I do not know which card to install in this model of laptop. I need the full designations, symbols, anything that specifically identifies the Wi-Fi 6 card for this laptop modelI did a little research  and there are problems with the Wi-Fi 6 card for the hp, Not all AX 200 work in HP, there are also problems with BIOS locks etc.  I'm thinking buy AX 200 or AX 201 WiFi 6 intel.  What is the symbol of this card for laptop 17 anOxxxx ?

I replaced the old AC 7265 to  new intel AX 210 NGW card.  Upgrade as AX200 ax  +  Bluetooth  5.2 + WI-FI 6   and M.2

       AX210 NGW 5374 mb/s 802.11AX  M.2

Everything is working  😲   ..........     but     after installing new driver intel   🙂

Hi:

HP does not provide any information on what notebooks have BIOS whitelists.

Generally, most notebooks made in 2014 and after do not have whitelists.

The only way we know what upgrades work when the service manuals do not list the wifi cards folks are interested in upgrading to is when someone installs one and reports the results.

Since your notebook came equipped with the best wifi card available at the time, I don't know of anyone who has bothered to upgrade the 7265 AC card to a wifi 6 card.

So, all I can do is to point you in the right direction to find a card that might work.

This is the one I recommend you try...

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP Part # L35282-005

You can find this card on eBay.  Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

If you can't find this exact part number, then make sure you get an Intel AX200 card that is the non-vPro version, or it definitely won't work.

vPro wifi cards only work in HP business class notebooks with Intel processors and chipsets that support vPro technology.
