OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop PC GT21-1000i (6C1Q6AV)

I have bought this gaming desktop just over a year ago and I can't remember if this has always happened but whenever I play any games on it the wifi stops working. This has become a major issue if I try to play any online games as it just cuts out and becomes unplayable. I have tried updating the network drivers but that didn't help

A gaming desktop like the 40L should be hardwired to the modem.

That being said, there are a couple of things you can do.

1 - use the 5ghz band (if using the 2.4)

2 - make sure the modem / router is using the best channel.

How to select the 2.4 or the 5ghz band (your card may be different)

Be sure to find the channel that has the least amount of noise

Note that the AX210 Wi-Fi had only "Prefer".

To be sure your system is on the 5ghz that band needs to have a different name than the 2.4ghz band.

Most modems are set so the bands have the same SSID (name).  When you log into the modem be sure to rename one of the bands.
