There is this round thing below the numpad on my laptop. It doesn't seem to do anything and the NVIDIA sticker was originally placed on top of it. It almost looks like a webcam. Hoping someone can help identify what it is.

Looks more like a defect than anything else. No Omen that I know of has that object.

@Powersz, welcome to the forum.

 

You have asked a very good question.  I have looked through the Maintenance and Service Guide for the notebook and can't find the object listed anywhere.  It shows the numeric keypad, but nothing below it.  Maybe a member with the notebook will let us know more about it.

I was thinking along similar lines, seeing as any images of the laptop I have seen do not include the round thing.  It definitely looks to me that it is a webcam that for some reason was placed below the numpad, likely by mistake.

Don't get rid of that laptop.  It may be worth a lot of money some day.  Who knows, coins with defects get more valuable.  :generic:
