Hi @SAagrvictus

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 is experiencing a battery calibration issue, where the charge percentage gets stuck at 99%, then shuts down and resets to 0%

Since you've already tried updating the BIOS and uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, here are additional steps to troubleshoot:

Advanced Troubleshooting Steps

1. Perform a Battery Calibration

  • Charge the laptop to 100% and keep it plugged in for an additional 2 hours.
  • Disconnect the charger and let the battery drain completely until the laptop shuts down.
  • Leave it off for 30 minutes, then reconnect the charger and charge it to 100% again.
  • Restart the laptop and check if the battery percentage updates correctly.

2. Run HP Battery Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  • Select F2 (System Diagnostics) > Battery Test.
  • If the test fails, the battery may need replacement.

3. Reset Embedded Controller (EC)

  • Shut down the laptop and disconnect the charger.
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds to reset the EC.
  • Reconnect the charger and power on the laptop.

4. Check for Windows Power Management Issues

  • Open Device Manager > Batteries.
  • Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery > Disable.
  • Restart the laptop, then Enable the battery driver again.

5. Update Chipset and Power Management Drivers

  • Visit HP’s support page and download the latest chipset and power management drivers.
  • Install them and restart your laptop.

6. Check for Background Processes Affecting Battery

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check for high CPU usage.
  • Disable unnecessary startup programs under Startup tab.

7. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Shut down the laptop and unplug it.
  • Remove the battery (if removable), then hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery and power on the laptop.

8. Consider Battery Replacement

  • If the issue persists, the battery may be failing and require replacement.
