OMEN
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

when the computer starts, i can log in and the desktop screen shows up for a few seconds and then goes black completely. it shows an error message that says " OmenCommandCenterBackground.exe not found"

i can still access my task manager but that is about it.

The laptop is only a couple of months old and no updates have been recently installed.

@NiharP,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and MoreI understand you are in need of support,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?

Have you tried to end the task and check if that helps.

Could you please share the screenshot of the issue as this will help me in further assisting you.

Have you tried to uninstall Omen command center?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

As you have mentioned in your post that the screen goes black soon after it boots to the desktop but you are able to access the task manager,

In this scenario I would suggest you try to launch task manager and then on the top click on File - Run new task and then it opens up the Run command box.

In the open box type in explorer.exe and then click on OK. Check if you're able to see the File explorer.

Could you please respond to this post with the details and with the results of the troubleshooting as this will help me in further assisting you.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
