Hi @pranav2000,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Camera in Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
- Expand the "Cameras" or "Imaging devices" section. If you see your camera listed, right-click on it and select "Enable" (if it's disabled) or "Update driver" to update it.
Driver Reinstallation:
- If the camera is not listed or shows a warning symbol, you can try uninstalling the camera driver:
- Right-click on the camera device.
- Select "Uninstall device."
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically upon startup.
Update the Camera Driver:
- Visit the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page and enter your laptop's model number to check for any available camera driver updates.
- Download and install the latest camera drivers provided by HP for your specific model.
Privacy Settings:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
- Ensure that "Camera access" is turned on and that apps you want to use the camera with have permission to access it.
HP Support Assistant:
- Use the HP Support Assistant to check for updates and troubleshoot hardware issues. It can help identify and fix problems with your camera.
BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F10 during startup).
- Check under the "Security" or "Advanced" tab to ensure the camera is not disabled.
I hope this helps.
