I am writing here because neither Android nor Windows10 support have been able to resolve the problem so far, although I do not beleive this is a hardware problem.
Basically, both my wifr Android LG and my Samsung S4 are not recognized on any of the 4 USB ports. However our Iphone is and recognized on my HP Omen and my Samsung S4 is recognized on other Windows7 PCs. I just want to connect my samsung USB port to transfer files without having to leave the SD card is not accessible. I just saw this article, but I hesitate to proceed : https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48231
This is a list of everything I did without success:
1- restart the computer and Samsung including removing the battery 1 change cable
2- test my samsung on another computer (it works well with my old computer and computer at the office)
3- install the drivers and samsung smart switch
4- put my samsung in debug mode
5- put my samsung in MTP mode after dialing the number # 0808 #
6- test other devices on my PC to verify that the USB ports are working well (they do)
7- clean bus controllers in Device Manager
8- samsung start in safe mode
9- run the troubleshoutingand restarted the computer. Nothing changed, same problem.
10- Finally I updated everything I could. Restarted but It did not fixed the issue.
Few things I was suggested to do in Windos 10 forum and my answers :
Back to square one...
Please help (and if possible without reinstalling the entire system.... I suspect this is the next step, I hate to do that).

I would like to report that the problem has been solved. It was a combinaison of three factors:
- some USB port do not react as others ;
- my wife debuged once more the phone with the Korean menu (because she is Korean) ; once this been done something was "happening" but was very unstable, therefore:
- finally we found that the cable of Samsung (the one that came with the box of my S4) did not work properly ; we used a brand new one from our Galaxy tablet.

Every android phone is different, when I first connected my Nexus 6 to W10 it did nothing, then I read I had to swipe down on the sceen to select my connection options. There was no indication on the phone I had connected it (other than it was charging the battery), I just swiped down and there was the menu, not very intuitive.
That microsft link may not help, that is already installed in regular version of W10, only W10N (europe) versions need that.

Sadly, I have not found the solution. It is detected automatically with any PC without doing anything else than just plugging it with the USB port, why should it be different with my new Windows10 PC? My tel appointment with the HP support is for Friday 22 January...
