Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

Omen 15-ce018dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've hit my wits end with this, I don't know if it is a common issue with my model or something, I bought this computer a few days ago second hand, and had been dealing with the constant using it till it dies, then charging it, or just when I'm away from it for a long period of time, shutting it down completely so I can charge it to have a bit more time to use it when I get back.

At first I thought it was the charger itself. So I bought a new charger that had the specific Amps and Volts the laptop required, the one that was given to me second hand was a 19.5V and a 9.23A out put. The charger I just bought like legit it just came in today, and which I am in the process of returning, won't even charge the laptop while it is off. It shows that both connect to the computer, it pops up saying it is connected but won't charge then after 5-15 seconds, disconect.

I looked up online how to solve the issues, and I have done everything I could see.

1.  Going to Device Manager, uninstalling the battery stuff, restarting, I even went as far as removing the battery from inside the computer. No luck.

2. Upgraded my BIOS in hopes that'd solve it. Nope.

3. Checked to see if it was a battery or even a connection issue. Battery checked out okay, mother board has no issues, and for the short time the chargers connected to the computer it said they where fine.

4. Held it at gun point in hopes it would succum to my will. It wouldn't budge.

There isn't much else I haven't done other than offer my first born to some kind of deity in order to fix it. I spent too much on this thing for it to just get sold off for parts, I REALLY want it to work... I have no warrenty on it, seeing as i bought it second hand, plus it said it expired anyways on the HP check thing I downloaded. There is no retailer that can look at it within 100 miles of me, other wise I would take it to them...

Is it even worth it at this point to keep trying to fix it? Or should I just sell it and recoop at lest some of my loss?
