Hi @Lindsay310161,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Have you made any changes to your hardware or software?

It sounds like there may be an issue with the fans not receiving power or not being properly recognized by the laptop. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

Check Power Connections: Ensure that the fans are properly connected to the laptop's motherboard and that any power cables or connectors are securely attached.

BIOS Settings: Check the BIOS settings to see if there are any options related to fan control or power settings for the fans. Resetting the BIOS to default settings might also help.

Update Drivers: Make sure that the drivers for the fans (if applicable) are up to date. You can usually find these on the manufacturer's website. Click here, and use your unit serial number and current OS. Also, update Bios.

Hardware Diagnostics: Run a hardware diagnostic test to check if the fans are being detected by the laptop. Click here

Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, software conflicts can prevent the fans from running. Try running the laptop in safe mode to see if the fans work properly.

If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with the laptop.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

No joy,  rechecked connections, reset bios , checked for updates. That hp omen is 2018 vintage, the only thing it could be is faulty replacement fans so i will contact seller for possible replacing fans. Thanks for your possible solutions. I have being running pedestal fan to lower temperature . If replacement of what is likely faulty fans , worked initially for short period then stopped for no apparent reason. Did also do a laptop reset which also has not solved issues.
