Hi @SIMARR,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there could be several issues at play here. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve these problems.
- Check for Overheating: Overheating can cause crashes and performance issues, especially during intensive tasks like gaming. Make sure your laptop's vents are clear of dust and debris, and consider using a laptop cooling pad to help dissipate heat.
- Update Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause performance issues and crashes. You can usually update drivers through the device manager or by visiting the HP website.
- Adjust Power Settings: It's possible that your laptop's power settings are not optimized for gaming. You can adjust power settings to prioritize performance over battery life while gaming. Go to Control Panel > Power Options to adjust these settings.
- Monitor Battery Health: The issue with the battery percentage jumping from 0 to 100 could indicate a problem with the battery itself. Consider running a diagnostic tool to check the health of your laptop's battery.
- Reduce Graphics Settings: If you're not getting enough FPS while playing games, try lowering the graphics settings in the game to see if that improves performance. High graphics settings can put a strain on your laptop's hardware.
- Close Background Applications: Make sure no unnecessary applications are running in the background while gaming, as these can consume system resources and cause lag.
- Run System Diagnostics: Use built-in system diagnostic tools to check for any hardware issues that could be causing crashes or performance problems.
- Scan for Malware: Sometimes, malware or viruses can cause performance issues and crashes. Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to check for any infections.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issues you're experiencing with your HP laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
