Hi @om86

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like your HP OMEN 16 laptop is not displaying the correct refresh rate of 165Hz, even though it's specified in the laptop's features.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down to Advanced display settings and ensure the refresh rate is set to 165Hz. If 165Hz is not listed, proceed to the next steps.

2. Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website or the graphics card manufacturer's website (e.g., NVIDIA or AMD) to download and install the latest drivers for your GPU.

3. Verify Display Panel:

  • Ensure your laptop is equipped with the 165Hz panel. Some configurations of the OMEN 16 come with a 144Hz panel instead. You can check the exact specifications of your model on the HP Support page.

4. Check NVIDIA Control Panel:

  • If your laptop uses an NVIDIA GPU, open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • Go to Display > Change resolution and ensure the refresh rate is set to 165Hz.

5. Update BIOS:

  • Outdated BIOS firmware can sometimes cause hardware compatibility issues. Check for BIOS updates on the HP Support website.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
