If the hard drive and operating system are still in tacked, you can perform a recovery.

The link I gave you will give details for this.

Plug the AC power into the laptop and make sure the laptop is off.

Rapidly tap the Esc key when you first hit the power button to see the Options menu.

Then choose F11 for the recovery and follow the prompts.

If it will not do this, you will have to contact HP Support and purchase the recovery media.

Or

Take the laptop back to the store for a refund.

To order the media, go to the link below and choose the country you live in.

Contact HP Worldwide | HP® Official Site

Choose Support and it should prompt you for your product number which should be  F1F08EA.

Follow the prompts to contact an Agent.

Once you do the recovery (wipe everything and return the system back to factory), it will have everything that should be installed.

If after that, you still cannot use the HDD, press the Windows key and X key.

Choose Disk Management.

You should see the HDD listed as a separate drive (usually listed as 😧 ). If you do not see it at all, it may have physically failed, be disconnected or was removed.

In such case, you can contact HP Support again for a warranty issue, or take the laptop back for a refund.

In my opinion...

If you got a really good deal on the floor model,  then it is probably worth it to contact Warranty service and explain the situation.

If you didnt get a good deal, you would be better to return it and order directly from HP instead.

Then you will have a newer version of the video card if you play a lot of games.

Hello Roberto,

I am not understanding what you mean by "the HDD was not configured to work yet".

Did the Store run the HP recovery to bring the laptop back to factory settings? If not, you would do well to do that now.

This way, you can set it up with a fresh start again.

IF they did do this, that would explain the need for you to set up your User Account and such.

Could that be what you are asking for help with?

Here is a link explaining how to run the recovery.

You would do well to also create your Recovery Media using a 16 GB USB flash drive.

i meant that the hdd wasnt working yet and i needed to format it to get it to work. i dont know if they performed a recovery  al i know is that they removed the test program. i also have the problem with not having the rights to acces files or delete them. would it be best if i just performed a recovery then? because i think that some windows programs arent installed.
