Hi @tunche,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Restart the Laptop:

  • Shut down the laptop completely.
  • Turn it back on and immediately start pressing the Escape key repeatedly. This should bring up the Startup Menu.

Access System Recovery Options:

  • From the Startup Menu, press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup.
  • However, if the administrator password prompt appears again, proceed to the next steps.

Perform a BIOS Reset:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Unplug the power cord and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reattach the battery and plug in the power cord.
  • Turn on the laptop and check if you can access the BIOS without the password prompt.

Use the HP Utility:

  • If the above steps don't work, you may need to use HP’s utility tools.
  • Download the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics from HP Support.
  • Create a bootable USB with the diagnostic tool and attempt to access the BIOS settings via the utility.

I hope this helps.
