hi, my pc hp pavilion gaming 15 cx0009nf has a battery problem for 2 months. The battery references are HP SR03XL rechargeable Li-ion battery I bought a battery which is not of the HP brand but which has the same reference. After replacing it with it I see that my computer always displays battery problem. I would like to know if I can replace it with an SR04XL which is from the HP brand. Thanks in advance.

Hi @SON02,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Using a non-HP branded battery with the same reference as the original battery should, in theory, work correctly as long as it meets the necessary specifications. However, the fact that you're still encountering a battery problem after replacement suggests that there may be other issues.

Before considering a different battery model, here are some steps you can take.

  1. Calibration: Ensure that the new battery is properly calibrated. You can do this by charging the battery to 100%, then discharging it completely until the laptop shuts down. Afterward, charge it again to full capacity.

  2. Update BIOS: Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, updated firmware can address battery-related issues.

  3. Driver Updates: Ensure that your power management and battery drivers are up-to-date. You can find the latest drivers on the HP support website.

  4. Hardware Check: Run a diagnostic test on your laptop's hardware. HP often provides built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
