Hi @HSL563,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re unable to attend your exam on Safe Exam Browser as it shows a “multiple camera devices found” message on your OMEN by HP 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop (16-wd000) running Windows 11. Let’s go through a few steps to resolve this.

a. Disconnect External Cameras

If you’ve connected any external USB webcam or other camera-enabled device (like a phone or capture card), unplug it.

Safe Exam Browser allows only one active camera device, so having multiple cameras can trigger this error.

b. Disable Additional or Virtual Cameras

Press Windows + X → Device Manager → Cameras.

If you see more than one camera (e.g., “Integrated Camera” and “OBS Virtual Camera”), right-click and Disable device for the extra ones.

Keep only the Integrated Camera enabled.

c. Close or Uninstall Virtual Camera Applications

Programs like OBS, Snap Camera, ManyCam, DroidCam, or Logitech Capture create virtual cameras that interfere with Safe Exam Browser.

Close these apps completely from Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) or uninstall them temporarily.

d. Check Camera Permissions

Go to Settings → Privacy & security → Camera.

Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both turned ON.

Scroll down and make sure Safe Exam Browser has permission to use the camera.

e. Restart and Test the Camera

Restart your laptop.

Open the Camera app from the Start menu to confirm that only one camera is listed and functioning correctly.

f. Relaunch Safe Exam Browser

After verifying that only one camera is active, reopen Safe Exam Browser and try launching the exam again.

I hope this helps.
