Hi @broker1274, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The three white blinks on the charging port LED typically indicate a power-related issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

Check for Loose Connections

  • Ensure that your charger is properly plugged into both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Try a different power outlet.
  • If possible, test with another compatible HP charger.

Perform a Hard Reset

Since your laptop shows signs of power, a hard reset might help:

  1. Disconnect the charger and remove any connected peripherals (USB devices, external drives, etc.).
  2. Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Plug in the charger without turning on the laptop and wait for a minute.
  4. Try turning it on.

Check for Battery Issues

If the laptop only reacts when plugged in:

  • Try turning it on without the battery (if removable) and only using the charger.
  • If the battery is non-removable, let it charge for at least 30 minutes, then try turning it on.

Identify Blink Codes

The 3 white blinks might indicate:

  • Battery issue – It may need reseating or replacing.
  • Motherboard failure – The laptop might not be receiving power correctly.

Reseat RAM & Internal Battery

If you’re comfortable opening the laptop:

  • Disconnect the power.
  • Remove the RAM sticks and reinstall them securely.
  • Disconnect the internal battery (CMOS) for 5 minutes and reconnect it.
  • Try turning the laptop on again.

Check for Short Circuit or Internal Damage

  • If you recently updated BIOS, installed new hardware, or experienced a power surge, your motherboard could be affected.
  • Check for any signs of burnt components or loose connections inside the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
