The keyboard lighting isn't on.  I tried turning it on through the HP OMEN Control and when I do it just flashes once and then is off again.  It was fine until I updated the BIOS today.

This was an easy fix.  While holding down the "fn" key, press "f5".  This will toggle the keyboard lighting on and off.
