hello,i have bought my hp omen xd0020ax(r7 7840hs+rtx4060)2 months ago. nowadays i am experiencing a deep freeze while gaming ,this freeze is random, it can be at loading of the game or at anytime . i usually play max upto 0ne hour . i have tried everything including  complete resetting my laptop, reinstalling games, bios reset mentioned by hp virtual assistant, reinstalling nvidia gamedrivers using ddu and also changing power mode to high performance but nothing worked, its just freezing hard and leading force shutdowns . but sometimes my rgb keyboard button works in keyboard i.e f4 apart from that nothing button on keyboard  or mouse work. Apart from the gaming everything works fine , this freeze happens frequently but not everytime . i encountered this issue in gta5,ets2,forza horizon 4,5 and also cs2. I suspect the latest bios update(BIOS Version/Date Insyde F.29, 26-03-2025) as these issues happening after that . can you please solve this

thankyou

@Bhavesh7267, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Run HP Diagnostics

Restart your laptop and press ESC repeatedly.

Press F2 to run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics. This checks your hardware (RAM, storage, etc.).

Update All Drivers

Make sure all drivers (Nvidia, chipset, etc.) are up to date. You can use HP Support Assistant or manually download from HP’s website.

Test with External Keyboard/Mouse

Plug in a USB keyboard and mouse to see if the freeze happens with them instead of the built-in ones.

Test RAM with Memory Diagnostics

Type mdsched in the Run box (Windows + R), and select Restart now to check for RAM issues.

Perform a Clean Boot

Disable non-Microsoft services in msconfig and try gaming with a minimal setup to see if any background apps are causing the issue.

Run System File Check

Open Command Prompt as admin and type:

sfc /scannow

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

This fixes any corrupt system files.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
