@ShivanshAhuja, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with fan noise, especially after cleaning. Let’s walk through a few steps to help resolve the buzzing/grinding sound from your HP Victus laptop fans.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
HP provides a built-in tool to test your laptop’s hardware, including the cooling fan.
- Download and run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows:
HP PC Hardware Diagnostics | HP® Support - After launching, go to System Tests > Fan Test and run it.
Update BIOS and Drivers
Outdated BIOS or system drivers can cause abnormal fan behavior.
- Visit your laptop’s support page:
Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s1000 - Download and install the latest BIOS, Chipset, and Thermal Framework drivers.
Check for Overheating or Background Processes
Sometimes, fans spin up due to heat caused by background apps.
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check for high CPU usage.
- Close unnecessary apps or processes.
- Ensure your laptop is on a hard, flat surface to allow proper airflow.
Inspect for Physical Issues
Even after cleaning, buzzing or grinding may indicate:
- Fan misalignment or bearing wear.
- Dust reaccumulation or loose screws.
If the cleaning was done externally, internal buildup may still exist. Consider a professional internal inspection or contact HP for service.
Use HP Support Assistant
This tool helps with automatic updates and diagnostics.
- Download: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
If the fan noise continues after these steps, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - India | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
