Hi @aditya230

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—white spots appearing on the display, especially during dark content, can be distracting and may indicate a panel-level issue. Since you're using an HP Victus 15, this has been reported by other users as well.

Let’s break down what’s likely happening and how to proceed.

What Causes White Spots on the Display?

These are typically caused by:

  • Pressure marks: Internal pressure from the keyboard deck or hinge area pressing against the screen
  • Backlight bleeding: Uneven light distribution from the LCD backlight, especially near corners
  • Panel defects: Manufacturing inconsistencies or dead pixel clusters
  • Impact or flex damage: Even minor physical stress can cause localized distortion

How to Confirm It’s a Hardware Issue

Try this quick test:

  1. Open a pure black image in full screen (you can search “black screen test” online)
  2. Observe the white spots—if they remain static and visible only on dark backgrounds, it’s likely backlight bleed or pressure damage
  3. Gently press around the affected area—if the spots flicker or change, it confirms pressure-related distortion

What You Can Do

If Under Warranty (within 1 year of purchase):

  • Contact HP phone support team and report the issue

If Out of Warranty:

  • You can still request a paid repair or panel replacement
  • Alternatively, use external monitors for critical tasks if the spots are too distracting

Temporary Workaround

If the spots are faint and you're not ready for repair:

  • Lower screen brightness slightly to reduce visibility
  • Use dark mode or themes with less contrast to mask the effect

Let me know if you’d like help locating your exact product number or preparing a support case. I can also guide you through HP’s panel replacement process if needed.
