OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck2000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

No sound input device and output devices, (laptop microphone & speckers), found to choose from. Went through all the troubleshooting fom HP and Windows 11 software. NO LUCK! I even ran recovery on window 11 OS.

NOTE: You can't fix when its not listed in the device manager.    😣

Hi @jbradford206,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your OMEN 17.3-inch laptop on Windows 11 is not detecting any audio input or output devices, and they are missing from Device Manager even after running recovery and standard troubleshooting. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check BIOS/UEFI Settings
 - Restart your laptop and enter BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing F10 during startup).
 - Navigate to System Configuration > Audio or similar and ensure that the integrated audio is enabled.
 - Save changes and exit BIOS.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
 - Turn off the laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then select F2 System Diagnostics.
 - Run the Audio Test to check if the hardware is detected.
 - If the hardware test fails, this indicates a hardware-level issue.

Update BIOS/Chipset Drivers
 - Download the latest BIOS and Intel/AMD chipset drivers from HP Support for your model.
 - Install them and restart.
 - Sometimes missing audio devices are caused by a missing or outdated chipset driver.

Check Windows Services
 - Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
 - Ensure Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder are running and set to Automatic.

Check for Hidden Devices in Device Manager
 - Open Device Manager, click View > Show hidden devices.
 - Look under Sound, video and game controllers.
 - If still not listed, this confirms the OS cannot see the audio hardware.

Perform a Power Reset
 - Shut down the laptop.
 - Disconnect all peripherals and remove AC power.
 - Hold Power button for 30–40 seconds to drain residual power.
 - Reconnect AC power and restart.

If Devices Still Missing
 - If the audio devices do not appear in Device Manager after all steps, it is likely a hardware failure (audio codec/chip issue).
 - In this case, internal repair or motherboard service may be required to restore audio functionality.

I hope this helps.
